|Scope of Work:
||Develop a goat production system computer simulation model to appraise
compatibility of available resources and production conditions and to disseminate
and provide training in use of the developed decision-support vehicle. Plans to
accomplish these objectives are to correct deficiencies and make necessary
programming changes in a current goat production system model to construct the
decision-support vehicle, which will consider profitability, sustainability, and
integration with other farm enterprises; evaluate most limiting resources to adopt
alternative production systems; and provide education and training in value and use
of the developed vehicle to university research, teaching, and extension specialists,
local extension agents, and livestock producers.
|Qualifications and Experience:
||Ph.D. in Animal Science or Computer Science. Strong background in simulation
modeling and/or Fortran computer language. Demonstrated ability to compile and
integrate data into simulation computer program. Capacity to work with other is
essential. Background in Animal Breeding and Genetics and/or knowledge of
hypertext markup language preferred.
||Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
