Arrowhead - Sagittaria sp.

Arrowhead is sometimes called duck potato for the fleshy edible tubers attached to the plant. It is also a highly prized waterfowl food. A cluster of arrow shaped leaves on long stems emerge from a basal stalk. Flowers appear on long erect stalks, have three petals and are usually white. Arrowhead grows in shallow water and at the margins of ponds.
