What Does The OAA Do?

OAA members across the state are actively involved in many different forms of aquaculture and associated activities including:

  • Catfish

  • Crawfish

  • Largemouth bass and other sportfish

  • Bait minnows

  • Aquatic plants

  • Fingerling production

  • Pond construction

  • Lake management

  • Fish processing

  • Fee fishing

  • Small-scale marketing

  • Fish live hauling

  • Educational tours of fish farms

  • Annual meetings and trade shows - free admission for OAA members

  • A regular internet newsletter that covers events from across the state and the nation and provide technical advice.

In addition all aquaculture producers benefit from...

  • OAA's work with the legislature to pass beneficial laws

  • Offering ideas and suggestions to OAA board of directors members across the state

  • OAA efforts to educate regulatory officials about aquaculture and so promote development of reasonable regulations.

  • OAA annual meeting. An opportunity to get together with old friends,  make new friends or conduct business.  Learn about the latest research and market trends from invited speakers.

Yearly dues are $25 and include registration at the annual meeting.  Dues run from January 1 to December 31 each year.  Make checks payable to: OAA.
